Principal's Welcome

Carleton Washburne Families,

I am excited to welcome our students and families to the 2024-25 school year. As I enter my sixth year as Principal of Carleton Washburne School, I continue to be humbled to be a part of the Washburne community, and continue the rich history of excellence in progressive education.  

This will be my 22nd year in public education spanning grades PreK-8, and my tenth as a building principal.  I pride myself on keeping students the first priority in my work at Washburne as an educational servant leader, and I look forward to continued collaboration with you, and our amazing staff, as partners in education to ensure your child’s success.

I am a firm believer in the importance of building strong relationships with parents, staff, and students. This has been my number one priority at Washburne. As a staff, we continue to focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment that fosters and supports academic, social, and emotional growth for all children.

Throughout the year it is my hope that we will work together to prepare students for high school with a solid educational foundation, empowering them to become world-class citizens.  

As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input.  I strongly believe in open, two-way communication. I look forward to working with you throughout the school year.
